ACADEMIC SUPPORT
Personalised Support. Real Progress.
Helping students and young professionals unlock their potential through targeted academic support, better study habits and stronger examination performance.
For individuals • Universities & academic departments • Bursary & sponsoring organisations
Our Approach
ITL provides individualised academic mentorship and coaching to university students, young professionals and institutional clients seeking targeted support to improve academic performance and examination readiness.
ITL works with each student, university, bursary provider or sponsoring organisation to understand the academic challenge, identify the support required and structure an appropriate intervention.
Support may be provided on a one-on-one basis, to small groups, or through broader institutional programmes.

Who We Support
Different needs. A common goal – academic success.
University Students Personalised academic support to help students succeed in their university studies. Interventions may focus on technical academic support, study technique, examination technique, or a combination of these areas. |
Universities & Academic Departments Supplementary academic support interventions designed around identified technical problem areas, targeted student cohorts, examination preparation, academic-risk interventions and student development needs. |
Young Professionals Support for young professionals preparing for key professional assessments, including the SAICA Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC) and Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). |
Bursary & Student Development Programmes Targeted academic mentorship and support for funded students, recognising that financial support alone does not always guarantee academic success. |
A Personalised Approach
There is no single academic-support model that works for every student. ITL starts by understanding the individual and structures support around the student’s actual needs.
1 UNDERSTAND
Identify the student’s academic position, challenges and objectives.
2 DIAGNOSE
Determine whether support is needed in technical content, study technique, examination technique, or a combination.
3 SUPPORT
Provide focused one-on-one or structured academic support.
4 REFLECT
Review progress, identify persistent challenges and adjust the intervention.
5 PROGRESS
Develop stronger study habits, greater confidence and improved academic performance.
Built on Relevant Experience
ITL’s academic mentorship and coaching approach draws on a combination of experience in:
- University teaching and academia
- Professional development
- Chartered Accountancy education
- SAICA professional assessments
- Assessment setting, marking and candidate development
This combination enables ITL to support students not only with what they need to know, but also with how they study, how they apply knowledge and how they perform in assessment environments.
